An incredibly beautiful image, Stefan. I love everything about it, and am especially curious about the texture. It has the look of artists paper or cardstock. How did you do it? #1473179Patty Razonable June 15, 2005

Thank you all for your kind comments, and thank you betterphoto.com for selecting the image for POTD! To answer the questions about how it is done - The original image has only the bottom blossom. The upper blossom is a flipped copy of the bottom one, put on a separate layer. Both layers were manipulated separately by applying a liquify filter, mostly on the upper one to change its shape and make it look like reaching to touch the other azalea blossom. The texture is one of the texture filters available with Photoshop however it looks a little differently after resizing the image and reducing the jpeg quality. All the manipulations were done on the original size. The original has considerably better sharpness and a little more details. The background is pretty much natural- trees out of focus. Thanks again. #1475064Kathleen R. Struckle June 15, 2005
