All,Thanks for the comments! I was assisting Bryan at a workshop here in the Bay Area and it was very windy!
Sam, no photoshop effect...I used filters (tobacco) to get that 'earthy' color. This is just the raw file converted to jpg.

Great shot and use of filter! Congrats on your win!! :) #1443780Rick Richardson June 10, 2005
Well Ananth four reasons. Firstly, as someone said, 'genius is simplicity'. And it was not so ordinary for Chris to visualize this composition. I have been to this exact spot many times but never thought of this. Only the bridge.

There are a lot of things that are great about this picture, but I am glad that we do not all like the same things. Still you have to be able to appreciate a picture for the components that went in to it. I can look at a painting sometimes and see the skill of the artist even if I do not like the painting it self. In my humble opinion it is not the object in the picture that is important but how it is portrayed and the emotions that the artist conveys through the image. Something I wish that I was better at. But practice makes perfect :) #1456401Jennifer A. Okamoto June 11, 2005
Ananth, I see no false praising about this photo. Though Chris has many wonderful photos, I see no reason to insult this one. I happen to love it,love this feel to it. It's just a moment. And really, how many photogrpahers are willing to photograph people. Chris did a great job and it shouldn't be counted as oridinary. Look at how many people disagree with you. #1459905Penni Royston June 14, 2005
