Awesome shot! The backlighting on the horns and the breathe really make it stand out. #814898Charles Haire September 30, 2004
It's a good shot, but appears to be over done in photoshop or a similar program. The foreground lighting is not common with back lighted subjects in my opinion. Back lighted subjects are not bright in the foreground unless supplemental lighting is applied. Also, there appears to be substantial noise and pixelation around the edges of the image, probably due to extreme sharpening. Overall it's a good photo. #814924Dan Walters October 01, 2004
Thanks for the response. However, the lighting does appear this way in the original transparency. I did, however, adjust the contrast and I may have oversharpened because it was such a small file. Thanks again. #815040Joy A. Connelly October 01, 2004

Wonderful backlighting, tonality, and composition. I can see the reason this was selected as both a POTD and finalist. Well done, Dan. #9038334Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
