Hang Your Head Over
Uploaded: September 03, 2004
1/300 sec. f4 shot on an early morning walk near the Block House in Downtown Pittsburgh. This was shot with a E550 Fuji camera which I cannot get onto my camera list. It is a small pocket camera.

Very pretty and original angle of this sunflower. #165276Penny Steiner September 04, 2004
This beautiful garden had many sunflowers all standing tall. This one was the different one and just cried to have a photo taken. Thanks for your nice comments.Penny #754616

Go figure...I carry my 10D with me everywhere but decided not to take it with me because of weight for the weekend. I bought this little pocket camera because Cathy Shotz (our camera addict:) told me about it and bought it and just love the detail it produces. It really takes beautiful images and I am so glad to hear from all of you. How are you, Kathleen? Hope to get back up to speed soon. Leanne and Colette...it always amazes me that you both are so responsive to everyone's photo and you both do such an incredible job at shooting.Penny #755408

I really like this - usually things with the face of the flower hidden get ignored. This was different and was shouting to be photographed if one had the ears to hear! The degree of detail on the hairy stem is just beautiful. Well done.Kathleen Clemons October 18, 2004
Way to go, Penny! Congrats on your POTD!! #852103William C. Raco October 18, 2004

I was really so surprised this morning when I turned on and found all your wonderful emails and congratulations on having my sunflower being named POTD. I really loved that shot and it was one of many that come and go, but it was one that I cared about. The recognition is so unbelievable!!!! To answer your question, Janet. I used a Fuji 550 but since I couldn't get it listed and wanted to enter it, I put in up as the 10D but made mention in my notes that it was the Fuji. This morning was another exciting moment. We bought our 8 year old grandson a Canon A80 for his 8th birthday and took him to the balloon race in St. Louis. This morning at his elementary school after many hours of work, he put a photo show together and has it displayed in the showcase in the hall. I went with him and it was quite a proud moment.
Quite a day!!!! Thank you everyone for writing and sharing this exciting moment in time.

Thanks Bob:) I am finally coming back to land of the living with the move. We are still not in our house but the "light at the end of the tunnel" is there now. I just traded my 10D in and upgraded to the 20 and it is an amazing difference for me. My 10 was not a good one and this 20 is wonderful. Hope all is well and thanks for your nice comments. They are so appreciated.P. #853095
