Annual Bear Mountain Pow Wow at Bear Mtn, NY
Artistically rendered to give a sense of the explosiveness of the dancer in his full bustle of Eagle feathers, ankle bells and colorful vest and shirt!

Hi Doc, Tarun, Melissa, Steve & Janine! Thanks to you all for the warm and encouraging comments made on this image.
This pic was taken at one of my favorite Pow wows of the season at Bear Mtn, NY.
It takes place in a large open field atop a small rise and is completely surrounded by forest. The atmosphere is perfect and with a little imagination, one can project back in time for a wonderful experience.
From the parking lot, a quarter of a mile away, you can hear the drummers singing and can fantisize that you are approaching a village 150 years ago!
Thanks all, again
Norm

Because of the vibrancy of the colors in the original I decided to see if I could enhance it using Artrage2, a fantastic paint program.

Excellent work Norman! I can close my eyes and see them dancing around a fire many years ago! I have a bit of Cherokee in me, and in my younger days, I looked more the part. In fact, I used to braid strands of my hair and ride my Appaloosa in parades. :) #4775561Steve M. Harrington September 21, 2007
