Nearly perfect, Mark! May I offer one contructive crityicism -- and this comes from 2+years of membership in my camera club, with monthly contests where judges also crituque our work. I disagree with some of what they offer up (they really get absurd over the details sometimes). However, because of those critiques I guess I've developed a more "seeing" eye, and the only thing that throws me off in your image is the heavy clump of trees driectly to the left of the boat. The overall effect of the image is magnificent; calming, peaceful. I've never seen an effect quyite like this. The trees (for me) detract somewhat from the "lightness" of the image even though the entire image conveys that very peaceful, surreal feeling. #5027133Mary Clarke November 04, 2007

WOW Mark, this is incredible and a congratulations on your POTD. Excellent work. #5032250Mark Pelton November 05, 2007
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I shot the original in color. It was a very hazy/foggy morning so it was high key even in color. I converted to BW with a channel mixer adjusment layer in PSCS2 and just played with the channels until I liked this. Thanks again. #5032461Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
