Hill Country Longhorn
Uploaded: May 06, 2004
100-400mm Canon Zoom Lens. Aperture 5.6 at shutter speed of 500. The Longhorn was standing on the edge of a rolling hill. This helped the background be even more out of focus than what the zoom and aperture setting made it. The sun was also setting behind me to give this warm lighting onto the Longhorn and the flowers.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments. Andrew, I'm sorry for not getting back to you on where it was taken...I just now saw your question. It was taken between Brady and Llano. I lucked out seeing them in this field next to the road, they are usually down over the cliff and you can't see them from the road. Thank you all for your comments and encouragement. It's very much appreciated. #597696

Liz...this is simply outstanding! You have two Texas symbols...the Longhorn and Bluebonnets. Put them in one image perfectly composed with great light...you have an outstanding image. Worthy of selling on cards/postcards. Market this baby! #606526

Wonderful image, Liz, and a very well deserved Second Place winner back in May! Phil and I just came across this one when it was featured on the Contest page, and I HAD to comment! What a beautiful 'beast' you captured here among the Texas Bluebonnets, and the late afternoon sun is perfect! Very well done indeed! :~) #749401Mary-Ella Bowles November 22, 2004 0
Well I missed this back in May as well (So many photo sites, so little time!!). This is a winner in every way, Liz - a classic image, that I totally love. A belated congrats, and keep up the good work! #932086Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
