Wow! Thanks so much to all of you for your comments! They made my day :-)

Some of you asked how I achieved this effect. I used a slow shutterspeed and while I panned with the cyclist, I zoomed my lens at the same time. Lots of practice helps get some good results but it's a very "hit or miss" process. It's so much fun, though!

That is a dream shot, you know, one you dream of getting some day. Awsome job, I see you use the best when it comes to equipment. I'm a Canon fan too! Just got the new 30D. I love it. Thanks for the insight into how you got the shot.

Thanks, Wayne. I've had a few offline emails asking for my camera settings. Here they are:

Canon 70-300 IS DO lens at 180mm. f/29, 1/13th of sec, -2/3 compensation, ISO 100. It was a bright day so I was using a variable stop neutral density filter in order to get the slow shutter speed.

As I mentioned, Panning and Zooming at the same time takes lots of practice but it's really fun to see what you come up with. #4427266
