Hi Paaul,
I would have to say your camera was metering off the bright light in the back ground. I don't know what kind of camera you was uesing for this shot, but that would help to determine how to slove your problem. Also, the back ground is to bright, meaning if you did get the details in the face right, your back ground would be over expossed, washed out. next time you go out and shoot, try and shoot in even light, if possible.I hope that helps you out.Good luck #6082

I have also found that if the MAIN light source is either behind (if using the sun) or right at the photographer....(flash) the photos turn out better....

To have the back ground not so bright in this and more detail of the face...a flash would be needed even in the sunlight....

I think thats what the first person said.......he he
