Thanks Julie, Carolyn, Paul, Teri, Vendla, Kirsten and David for your nice comments.

This scene was quite special and literally hit me in the face as I drove along the main highway through Grand Teton.
The scenic vistas abound there but at at this oxbow lake I was truly blown away!
The morning sun was illuminating the trees along the lake and bringing them to life. I quickly grabbed several frames from different angles at varying focal lengths...(some of which I will post here at later dates).

Moments after I arrived at this scene, the sun ducked behind a dark cloud behind me and the magic was gone.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments!
Sorry if I wasn't quicker in responding but I've been away from my computer all day.
(POTD?...WOW!...who knew.)

This place was really quite special and the light was perfect when I arrived there but faded shortly thereafter.
I was able to grab around a half-dozen frames with a few different lenses before the sun behind me ducked behind the clouds and the foreground light became flat and seemed to lose its magic.

You can see some other versions of this scene on my website under "An American Journey".
You can clearly see on "Oxbow Lake 8" how the change in light created a flatter, less vibrant foreground.
I left there shortly after.
