Sunlight and Sea Water
Uploaded: March 01, 2006
Taken at Point Dume in Malibu, California at sunset. Equipment: Canon 10D, 17-40L lens, 1/2 second at f22, 100ASA, I used a 2 stop grad ND filter to keep the sky from overexposing.

Gorgoeus gorgeous gorgeous Dennis, congratualtions on a well-deserved POTD! Mary :-) #2534595DENNIS A. CHAMBERLAIN March 15, 2006 0
Thanks a bunch everyone! Joe, the shutter speed was 1/2 second. That gave the water a misty look. The warm highlights from the setting sun is what caused the orange in the water. I like to be creative with shutter speed when shooting water in motion. It's like an art to me. I don't always try to capture a "real" look to the water. #2534687DENNIS A. Well seen, and perfect placement with your GRD filter...hence, well rendered. Your capture, composition and camera placement is perfect; the tonality is wonderful and any editing is right on. No wonder the judges awarded you a POTD. What an honor! Congratulations!Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
