Tea-wash Tree (orig)

Uploaded: January 31, 2006

Description

f/3.2, 8 seconds, ISO64, built-in flash, tripod.
Original night image of a bare tree (which I thought had an interesting form) in my bank's parking lot.
I didn't expect to capture much, since my flash couldn't reach that far.

After manipulations in PSE2. (I'm afraid I didn't think to save a sample mid-way through!)
Applied color correction to brighten
In Hue/Sat, chose Colorize & used sliders to achieve a tea-wash color
Clone tool to clean up spots in the sky
Applied filters for Paint Daubs, Poster Edges, Add Noise and Diffuse.
Final crop to just the treetop. #383671

The original image, shot in low light, highlights the interesting shape of the tree, while the final edited version shows the artist's exploration of two-tone and sepia effects. ="://domain"key5#12095210
