Omaha Reflection
Uploaded: January 07, 2006
I composed the picture on the reflection and had a friend drop in a rock for the ripple effect. I did not use artifical filters to create the ripples. I rotated the picture 180 degrees. The "dry" sidewalk is at the bottom left and dry land is the green wedge on the right. Everything thing else is a reflection. If you can stand on your head or hold your monitor upside down, it will make better sense.
I think the ripples from the rock, along with the reflection, have transformed Omaha's skyline. As such, I've entered it into monthly theme.

Here's the actual image, if you can't stand on your head. :-) #370679Laura N January 07, 2006
wow! Thats a neat picture..! Fun to see both pictures and see how you did it :) #2261805Gail Vitikacs January 07, 2006

Simply but ingenious Ken, thanks for explaining that with a picture. Fantastic reflections and when turned upside down, a space odyssey adventure of your very own. Very well composed. #2261878Jenny Bosmans January 07, 2006
WOW!! This is fantastic, Ken!! I just love it!! What a terrific reflection image!! Super!! #2261969Nina Shields January 07, 2006
Absolutely brilliant; when I first looked at it I was trying to determine why the lettering on the building looked as it did, confirming that it was the reflected part of the image; fantastic execution of a very creative concept; you hit a homerun on this one; great work! #2262192Chris Budny January 07, 2006
I remember seeing your "after" shot, a few months ago---it is much easier to "see how," since you've uploaded the original, despite a simple 180 flip! A fantastic composition and creative twist! #2262280Colette M. Metcalf January 07, 2006
FANTASTIC, Ken!!! #2262423Pat Gamwell January 07, 2006
