Pray, Hope and Don't Worry! [Gem of the Day]

Saint Padre Pio (1887-1968) was an Italian Franciscan Capuchin friar, priest, stigmatist and mystic. He had the stigmata (wounds of Jesus) for 50 years. Many miracles have been attributed to his intercession. He had many gifts, including bilocation - he appeared in the sky to prevent pilots from bombing! And so much more! He has really affected my life and my family too.
He used to say, "Pray, Hope and Don't Worry! Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer. Prayer is the best weapon we have. Prayer is the key to God's Heart!" - there is more...
Worry for me is a hard one! I pray, hope and worry.
Selective focus on the petals in the foreground.

Susan, forgot to thank you for the info and inspiring message. Padre Pio always reminds me of my Mom because she had a small worn book by the Padre that she kept on a night stand that she read nightly. Years later, when she got ill, I would go back home as often as possible to spend time with her and that same small book was still in the same spot by her bed. She is gone now, and one of my older sisters now owns and reads the same worn book. Wish I had taken an interest in the book - and author- which I am sure would have pleased her very much. Too bad we don't realize until we are older that 'everything' is temporary. Thank you for the fond memories. Didn't mean to get carried away with my message. #12047062Christine Greenspan August 04, 2023
