Fishing Crow Silhouette

I've been doing quite a few shore bird silhouettes. It's one of those things you can do successfully in midday brightness, when you aren't supposed to be shooting. On the many sunny days around here, for me that's often. The brightness of water and sun gets you on your way to this with natural high contrast. Then you can use RAW editing to zap up the blacks and whites. Then you can clean up more by using any program that will help you with high contrast, including NIK, Topaz, etc. I always try to leave just a touch of silhouetted environment as well as the bird itself. You can also use many sorts of frames. I never was aware of this particular bird until I saw one in the shallows searching through shells for a meal.
