Humpback Chin Slap
Uploaded: January 08, 2018 | Entered: January 08, 2018 10:55:48
Humpback whales will sometimes surface just high enough to slap the underside of their heads against the surface of the water. This behavior is called a chin slap and it's thought they do so to dislodge barnacles and other growths from their skin or for communication with other whales. Frederick Sound, AK
