Love those little drops of water....and the nice golden color set against that cold blue background. Lots of cold here in Wisconsin. Congratulations. #10962118

Thanks to All for your kind comments.

My first “first” in my near 8 years at BP. This one not even near the top of the list of MY picks from my gallery, but I am thankful to the Judges nonetheless.

I took a solo walk on the clear, cold morning of Dec 27 with a new point-and-shoot (a Christmas gift) in my pocket. Spotted this oak leaf hangin on in the early sunlight and wished I had my DSLR with me. Did the best I could with the point-and-shoot on “macro” mode – there you go.

I am not particularly productive with my camera(s) these days as it is a hobby for me – currently I typically enter less than five images each month (sometimes only 1 or 2, sometimes none) – I am very selective about what I enter. But I still enjoy it a whole lot and am still hungry to keep learning and improving.

For the record, in my eight years at BP (by my count) I have 16 finalists, 8 second place and now a first place. Still waiting on that first POTD - (any judges with their ears on?)

Hang in there, BP.

Seemed liked like an appropriate occasion to go on record with a statement.

Keep clickin’.

Best Regards,
Steven

A stunning capture Steven. I know what you mean about some choices not being your own picks. I too often have an emotional attachment to certain photos I really believe in, & then another one is chosen. I often dont understand the process, but I use BP for a fresh look at my work. You probably have many winners you never even posted as do I, too bad we dont know which ones that is. LOL
