Thanks everyone! Thrilled to see this get a POTD!This photo only happened because of the Project 365 that I am doing (i.e., I am taking at least 1 new photo every single day for a year -- currently on Day 350, almost done!). Eighty percent of the time, the daily photo doesn't turn out to be anything particularly memorable because I don't put a lot of time into a good shot or I've had a long day at work. However, the 20% of shots that are memorable, certainly leave me with a lot more photos that I'm excited about that I probably wouldn't have otherwise have taken.
This photo is an example of that. A couple Sunday's ago, because of the project, I forced myself to venture out of the house on a cold, early evening to shoot Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, which I had never done before. If not for the 365 project, I wouldn't have gotten off my butt to shoot this. It's definitely be rewarding.
Long story short - I'd encourage everyone to try to do a 365 project, or at least, a 52 one-a-week) project at some point in their lives. #10923276

Congratulations Ryan. A great story and idea to keep you shooting. I am glad your project paid off! #10923494Suzanne Crawshaw December 16, 2013
Congrats on your POTD!I'm in agreement with you Ryan, I participate in a 52 week project, and it's definitely gotten me out of the house shooting, when I might not have, and have had some rewarding shots come from it... I've been wanting to get down to the park to shoot the ferris wheel, seeing your shot, really makes me want to go now! #10923498

I love the inclusion of the lights on the bank - they really give the image a festive touch. I tried one-a-week last year and made it about six months - will try again this year as like you I found it motivating. Congratulations on the POTD. #10924701Nadia Paul December 18, 2013
