TANDEM REBOUND

The annual Villa Classic high school basketball tournament was held Saturday at Arcadia University in Glenside, PA, a gorgeous campus with unique architectural photo opportunities.
Anyway, I experienced basketball photography "immersion" as Bill and I shot all five games from midday to 8 pm.
----
I clicked the shutter of my new Canon 5D Mark III camera more than 1600 times and managed to squeeze out more than 40 super shots, altering my feeling that you don't need a GREAT camera to get great shots. The THING is that if I didn't have a camera that could handle low-light conditions at high ISO with little noise, with an AutoFocus system that can perform miracles tracking moving subjects, and could focus LIGHTNING fast...I am pretty sure that my best attempts at composition would not have produced satisfying--let alone JOYFUL results.

F2.8, fixed 1/640S, auto ISO.

I took this down to fix a light flare, resubmitted it, then realized I'd botched it. So here is the original version, including all the light flares.member since: 10/6/2001 Well, it sure did work for you! Or you for it, or something like that! Nice job!

Spectacular sports action capture, Michelle! Yes, wonderful cameras DO make a difference, but they still need the photographer behind the lens to make them live up to their potential! Shooting fast action in a gym with tricky lighting can be a challenge and you really nailed this one! Wonderful work! #10468550Ann Coates December 17, 2012
Fantastic action shot Michelle. The two on the right crack me up, just the expressions on their faces are hilarious. I hope we see this again. #10468607John Connolly December 18, 2012
