This 81 year-old fisherman has been plying his trade since the tender age of 7.
He remembers the good old days when the river was abundant. Today, he rues the effects of overfishing that has drastically reduced the number of fish to almost extinction.

To all of you - thank you so much for appreciating my picture.Rob - Unfortunately the Li has been over-fished and there is very little cormorant fishing left. This has led the community to resort to tourism. It is still a well-worth visit if you can manage to put up with the back-packers town of Xing Ping. Sailing down the Li river on a bamboo flat boat pre-dawn is awesome. The topography is stunning. I listened to the Big Blue soundtrack on my iPhone, which compounded the experience.
