BEAUTIFULLY done Ravi, we had these in our yard where I grew up, this takes me back, WTG!! <>< #9820606Ravi S. Hirekatur November 20, 2011
Wow! What a nice response from so many people! Thank you all very much for your comments. Some have asked me about the settings. Here is how I took the picture. Used Canon 100/f2.8 macro on Canon 30D, tripod mounted without flash. ISO 200, f8, 0.3 secs. The image was uncropped. There was soft natural backlighting. It was difficult to isolate the flowers as there were several clusters of them. I tried different angles and experimented with apertures from f2.8 - f16. This one turned out just right w/ dof sufficient for getting details in the flowers and soften up the leaves around them.Martin L. Heavner November 20, 2011
Beautiful shot, Ravi -- great control of the DOF and wonderful colors and composition. Recognition as POTD is well deserved! #9820745Nikki McDonald November 25, 2011
Belated congratulations on the well-deserved POTD, Ravi -- and I get the bonus of enjoying the detail on your settings as well as the beauty of the image. Like others, I love these tiny flowers and am delighted with your capture of them here. #9829687Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
