This is for Dale's monthly challenge. My grandson on the right and his friend were at the Aviary checking out this bird. The bird started making some really loud drumming sounds at them. #1385014

Then what did the bird do? #9459592

When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought "dang, that's a big pigeon" :o)

You gotta love boys and their curiosity!

Beth this fits the challenge perfectly. There's nothing like friends sharing a momemt to identify the meaning of Fellowship.

LOL, I also thought at first glance that this was a huge pigeon. #9460651

Ha! I thought it was a huge pigeon (or miniature people) too! A good image for the challenge. Technically the WB appears on the cool side to me, most notably in the boy on the lefts white parts of his clothes. Would also decrease the saturation in his red shirt and open up the shadows a bit on the whole image. #9461056

Stephen, Jeff and Tony this was a Victorian Crown Pigeon. It actually hung around all the boys, (my 2 grandsons and their friend), for a long time. The bird would shake his head and roll it and made these really loud drumming sounds.
I thought I would add a couple more of the guys.
Tony I will try the edits within the next couple days.
Thanks #9461101

Dale, I didn't mean to leave you out! #9461106

Nice shot for Dale's MC, B9th, Bet they were entranced by this bird paying attention to them. Looking forward to your edits although I don't think it is all that "cool" in color but a tad more warmth might be good, too. #9462178

great capture beth, I like how the sun light is coming right down on the bird... I bet boys had so much fun. #9462666

I attempted the edits. I took this one in jpeg, not raw. I know there is a way to open it up as a RAW but am not sure how. Could someone let me know so I can adjust the white balance if necessary?
Thanks.
The boys had a blast all day! #9462760

Beth - in PSE or CS, go to File then Open As and then find your file. Down at the bottom, be sure to change the file type to Camera RAW. #9462838

Thanks so much! Got It!! #9462884

Wow...that is a funky looking bird. Drumming sounds? I'd like to find out what kind of bird it is so I could look it up online to hear what sound it makes. Great idea for the challenge. Your newest edit looks a bit on the dark side for my taste. I didn't see much wrong with the original posting other than maybe playing with the white balance. :~) #9463624

Wow that's a big bird. I'll bet the boys had a great time playing with it. :) #9464160

Don't think I have ever seen this type bird before. Very interesting and I would love to have heard that sound it made. Great photo for the challenge. #9464368
