Seeing POTD's everyday and they are, for the most part, all really nice shots, this image stands out greatly when comparing the "very good" with the "excellent". There are so many things right about this photo, that whether they were all planned in concept, or some just fell into place, the final result is a beautiful, exemplary photograph that illustrates the marriage of technical know how and the creative process of "concept to composition" in a wonderfully successful result.
