Description

I think the water pattern behind the rock gives the impression that the rock came in from the ocean and landed on the beach. I know, I know...sometimes my imagination can be wild :-) Shutter speed @ 2 secs for silky water effect.

Francis, I've been out on the Oregon Coast for two days now, trying to capture something like this as well as many other things. I had no idea how hard it would be! Either the wave is too small, or two big and it swamps my camera case lying on the sand behind me (already happened once, not much damage thankfully). Furthermore, the shadow detail is not easy to capture on the dark side of a rock facing the horizon, but you've managed the exposure wonderfully. To get the perfect wave receding with the perfect shutter and a magnificent sky to back it up is truly remarkable. Congrats! #1728837
