This Coyote came out of the woods and walked straight down the path towards us. We were certainly surprised he came so close to us. He walked past us and went on his way. My husband did get a few shots of him. #1320775Jack Gaskin October 25, 2010

Both images are fantastic, Tammy. I can't believe they let you get so close, they don't do that up here in Ohio!! (I also hope you submit the Coyote, I agree with Gord, the gait and stare are awesome!) #8993898Tammy M. Anderson October 25, 2010
Thanks so much everyone for the kind comments. No we weren't scared. He didn't seem to be threatened by us. Just wanted by to catch some chipmonks for his breakfast. This was a great experience. We hoped to catch up with some bears but only saw two from a distance. #8993920Jeff Robinson October 25, 2010

This down-low perspective is just great to show the elegance of the buck, Tammy. A couple of years ago here I saw a coyote walking down the middle of the road like this, midday too. Didn't have my camera unfortunately. #9001714Dick W. Wyatt October 29, 2010
He sure looks "ready". Love that huge neck.Carol Teal December 06, 2010
Wow @ the buck! An incredible capture! And about coyotes, my husband saw one about 3 weeks ago early one morning while he walked the dog. It was still dark outside and the coyote began to come towards him. We figure he may have been hungry and wanted to grab our little Chihuahua for breakfast. He probably didn't know he was on a leash. My husband yelled at him and he veered off the road and went around him, then got back on the road and was running down it. We live in a subdivison in what I consider the city, although it isn't a city as large as Tampa. There are hawks, possums, and raccoons but never would I have thought about a coyote being around. #9082823Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
