Description

1/20, f/5.6, ISO400, Canon EF-S 17-85mm IS USM. Sharpened in PS.

This is a Nozomi service JR700 series shinkansen or "bullet train" leaving Kyoto Station. The conductor is signaling that everything is ok and ready to depart. The shinkansen is the most convenient way to travel in Japan. It blasts its way across the country, taking only 2hrs and 20min from Kyoto to Tokyo with a max speed of 285km/h.

But he'd heard there was a lot of groping going on in the bullet train and when one of the gropers got off the train some people chased him up the platform and he fell over and died!! #2345521

Kate - no groping going on in the bullet trains. They are really spacious with more room than an aeroplane. The groping is more infamous on the insanely crowded local trains in Tokyo. I haven't heard about that terrible story but sounds more like something that would happen during peak hour(s) in Tokyo. #2351291
