Thanks to all of you for your great comments.Robert, the base subject is simply a flat clear glass plate that has the flowing designs. Crystal is not so good because the cuts are usually too deep. This causes harsh black lines. Here in Canada we have second hand stores called Value Village where I constantly check out to get plates with different designs. Because of depth of field...the flatter the better.
