I don't know what these flowers are called, but I love them. After a sparse few years due to the drought, this year's rains produced abundant displays of them all over SF, especially along the waterfront. Shot last night. UPDATE: the flowers are Echium.

I love the pov here, with the flowers and hill as foreground. Gorgeous mix of colors and natural plus human made. Are these flowers perhaps a type of liatris? #11583883Martha R. Mazon April 16, 2017 1
Thanks for the lovely comments, everyone! Mitch, that's an interesting thought. I did some searching and came up with the name: Echium. It's related, interestingly, to borage--which has the same hue and attraction to bees, but such a different shape. #11583890Terry A. Stoa April 16, 2017
Those flowers really make for a lovely foreground in this shot that includes your iconic bridge. That landscape is sure lush this year. #11583934Joanna Kovalcsik May 31, 2017
