This is really great! I love the curved lines! The color is awesome!Robert K. Bemus January 26, 2005
Great composition...fairly fast time exposure as there's not much glare? #1065401Patrick Byrd January 26, 2005
Thanks guys- it was 15 seconds. Is that long for this type of thing or not?I also had to open it all the way up because I was shooting through some sort of "don't throw bottles off the overpass" fence. The initial image was somewhat more glarish. But I desaturated the white side and punched up the red side using the sponge tool. The green hedge was pretty much the same washed out tungsten look as the highway so I fooled with that some too. When I get back to my desktop I'll post the original if you'd like to see. #1065469

A good shot of a classic idea. I agree, the curves and colors are great! My only problem with it is the diagonal lines of the bridge. A rule of composition is to keep horizons level and the bridge kind of acts as the horizon in this scene. What do you think? #1068003Robert K. Bemus January 27, 2005
I hadn't heard that but that's a good rule to keep in mind...I've taken similar photos from freeway overpasses - I'm usually concentrating on the cars I'm photographing and the cars wizzing past my behind; Patrick may have been distracted? #1068022Patrick Byrd January 27, 2005
I guess so. The whole curve is superelevated. I might have been trying to emphasize the height of the red vs white lights and give the whole thing an uphill look. I was certainly more concerned with the vertical supports but now that you mention it they could use a similar adjustment. Thanks for the input. #1068045
