Sun Over the Cottoneva
Uploaded: December 08, 2011 03:44:38
On February 10, 1937, the Cottoneva was blown ashore near Battle Rock by 75 MPH winds. Occasionally, the remnants of the 190 foot schooner are still exposed by winter storms, as was the case on this December day. And the rays of sunlight above and beyond the skeletal remains were captivating!
Quote of the Day: “It is better to meet danger than to wait for it. He that is on a lee shore, and foresees a hurricane, stands out to sea and encounters a storm to avoid a shipwreck.” ~Charles Caleb Colton
