I'm overwhelmed by all your kind comments, thanks all of you. This particular ridge in the Olympic Mountains is about 3.5 hours from Seattle (including a ferry ride). I took off early from work and drove all the way out there in the hopes of finding avalanche lilies, which I had been told by a friend who's a park ranger were in full bloom. Needless to say, I was quite pleased to find these fields of flowers, with 2 hours left of the day before having to drive back home. It was well worth it, I think, but some would probably call it insane ;-) #8947601Inge Johnsson October 04, 2010
By the way, yes Karen and Michelle in Washington state, you need to get out there and explore the fantastic nature we have up here in the Pacific Northwest :-) I was just up at Cascade Pass and Sahale Arm in North Cascades NP over the weekend, and boy was it beautiful! #8947609John T. Peters October 04, 2010
Oh, I love those little avalanche lillies! Excellent point of view. Perfect. Nice capture. They wave quite a bit in the wind so that can be a challenge. #8947755Patricia (Pat) C. Exum October 05, 2010
