Caboose in Morning Light
Uploaded: January 03, 2010 11:37:04
Taken at Prater's Mill 12-5-09. HDR Image from three photos. Photomatix Pro. f/20 ISO 100 10-22mm lens @10mm Category: Lighting - Side Lighting. This caboose is lit by the early morning sun. The side-lighting (along with the use of a wide-angle lens) gives depth and a three-dimensional quality to the caboose.
Exif: F Number: 19.9, ISO: 100, FocalLength: 10.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 50D

On the day that I took this photo, I was there to shoot Praters Mill across the street from this caboose. I was heading back to my car, ready to pack it in after an hour and a half of photography in cold wet weather. Then I saw this caboose illuminated in the most beautiful light that I had seen in quite some time.

To Cathy Barrows: Yes, I was referring to Prater’s Mill in Varnell, Ga.
To Kathy Wesserling: The ghostly figure is caused by a cardboard box as seen through a torn piece of plastic hanging down from the top of the window.
Here is the photo of Prater's Mill that I took earlier that morning, while it was still overcast and snowing.
