Heather, I have to say first of all that I love your photos! Second, congratulations!I have tried and tried panning and all of my shots either are over exposed or under exposed. Can you please give me some hints as to how you got this great shot? (The smallist f-stop on my digital is 8) #606429
Heather K. McFarland June 20, 2004
Thank you April! One method I use for panning and slower exposures during daylight to cut down on the overexposing is to use ND filters. I have two of them...and 2X and 4X. Sometimes I only have to use one of them...sometimes both of them stacked.
For this shot however, I was able to get the correct exposure without using Neutral Density filters as I took the image while the flowers were still in shaded light.
Also if your camera has Exposure compensation use that. If it's overexposed start changing the stops to -1EV, then -2EV...etc. If underexposed start changing the EV to +1EV, then +2EV...etc...until you see the correct exposure in your LCD! #606454
