Thank you all! You have made my day with all the positive comments. This dog is a 6 month old puppy and a pleasure to work with. Thank you to my favorite assistant, my daughter, who made this shot possible.
My secret to get the dog to pose like this is to have them sit, stay and put a treat in the hand of my assistant. Keep on telling them to stay, stay, stay and slightly move your hand with the treat to get the head in the right position, while commanding to stay. I usually only get 1-2 shots per pose especially with a puppy. It takes a lot of patience and time to get the shot jussssst right. Also dogs are much easier to work with that children; you can photograph for hours compared to minutes. Dogs just want to please -- well most do. #489932
