Great photo. Is there a story behind the photo? #7831963Jeannie Peery August 09, 2009
It was taken after a meeting with village elders (the men in the photo) to discuss their needs and what we (the coalition) could do in order to meet those needs (such as the building of a hospital, drinking wells or just handing out blankets and heaters for the winter months) while I was deployed to Iraq back in 2004.I took the photo because our interpreter had overhead them discussing how they had enough weapons to overtake us and they were debating whether or not to do it and I wanted to make sure I had their faces documented just in case things went south. Thankfully we got out of there pretty quickly before they had a chance to do anything and my team never went back. #7832211
