Thomas, this is beautiful! How did you do it? #107093Thomas McConville March 15, 2004 0
hi douglas. how I put this together was I shot from underneath...there were three large poles holding this aircraft up...in photoshop I cloned these poles out, then with the pen tool I cut the aircraft out and pasted it into one of my sky shots...then to make the exhaust I created a new layer then airbrushed blue then drpooed the opacity. thanks for the kind words - thomas #424409Douglas Gould March 15, 2004 0

All I can say is WOW! My father worked with this plane primarily when I was a child. He was in the Air Force and we were in England for most of it. I have been priviliged enough to see this beautiful aircraft take off from the flight line many times! This is the best representation I have seen in a photo shot. YOu have done a wonderful job with your PS effects! I would love to frame this and give it to my father! Well done! #425223Adam Bolt April 12, 2004 0

Thomas, I guess my response has to go in the "better late than never category", but this is really the best shot I've ever seen of this aircraft. I used to work with someone who took photographs of planes being flown by test pilots while he was in the Air Force. This rendition is so realistic if you had told me or him you took it through the canopy of a chase plane, we'd have believed you. Great work!Thomas McConville April 25, 2004 0
thank you very much mike. that would have to be one of the best compliments I can get. when you cant tell its a composite when it really is ...then thats super. isnt this just a lovely aircraft...i think ive fell in love with its lines and curves...i must go back soon to shoot it again. again thank you and happy shooting - thomas #500474Wilson H. You see, THIS is why I love digital manipulation of photographs. I mean, seriously, who else on Earth will have a picture like this, or, for that matter, is even remotely likely to be able to take a picture like this? You have to MAKE a picture like this, and you've done an awesome job. If, in real life, you can't get your subject and its surroundings together for some reason, shoot them separately, then merge them later. I honestly see nothing wrong with that when you're creating art for the purpose of entertainment or advertising. I mean, if anything, it requires just a wee bit more talent than plain ol' photography, because you obviously have to know your art in photography to get the shots to begin with, but then you must also know your art in digital manipulation. I would say that deserves more praise than many of the purists are willing to offer. But, I digress. This is an amazing image, and I really REALLY appreciate your sharing it. :) #527954
