Taken as part of a “extension tube experiment”, Shot in the prone position with a Nikon 50mm and a ridiculously large stack of extension tubes (unfortunately I can't remember how many!).

Eric, I'm intimately aware of how small these hover flies are! I have some shots myself. I always think, "If only people truly knew!" I missed this. It's great! Love the color! My hover flies were around a rather bland flowering tree. :-)Karma #1411978
