Thanks so much. Sachin I use very different exposures depending also on foreground lighting. I never exceed 5 second exposures at F11 to F16. Focusing is always manual also. never leave the camera on autofocus and always use a cable release. #6608698

Thanks laurence, any particular white balance. I have tried shooting at 2seconds but it always blurs. Do you do any post correction, what software and how? It's always good to learn from a Guru.

White balance usually on Auto but I always try to experiment with other settings but they all seem to have very similar reults. Post correction is minimal. I only fine tune the levels to get that perfect black even when there is some smoke. I use Photoshop usually. If you are getting a blur your tripod is not sturdy enough. Also another thing I do is use a piece of black cloth and I keep the camera covered to minimize any light entering from behind through the viewfinfder. These long exposures need a very sturdy tripod and cable release or remote.
