wow! I love this! I was there last month hoping to photograph the very same thing, but there was no snow. Cold enough, just no moisture in the sky. Did you take this recently? It's beautiful! I have a picture taken week before Thansksgiving...I'll show it to you if you're interested..email me. great shot! #82809Craig A. Rose December 27, 2003
Thanks so much for the response!!! I would love to see your image of the chapel - feel free to send it on to me at:craig@carosephoto.com
This image was taken yesterday morning. There was quite a bit of snow on the valley floor from a recent storm and there were continuing snow showers while we were there.
Cheers!

Congratulations, Craig - I am very envious, I had tried to get away to go up there myself, but it was tough to time it just right. Had to be there when it happened, and you got lucky! But you did a very nice job with the situation. Great mood to this image - and you have next year's holiday card already to go! #338022Craig A. Rose January 19, 2004
Francis, Gary, Mary, Evy, Colette!!!Thanks-a-billion for the incredibly kind words. I am so happy this image was chosen by the judges!!! Does this justify the purchase of a new wide angle lens? =8^)
Seriously, thanks again!!!

Nice photo! I like that it looks like a black & white except for the color in the cathedral. Gives it a nice effect. #348292Susana Matos February 01, 2004
very interesting contrast between color and B&W! I was wondering if it´s B&W or just the mother nature´ colors of winter... Congratulations,Craig A. Rose February 01, 2004
Loraine & Susana -Wow!!! Thanks so much for the really super nice comments!!! Yes, the black and white look of everything but the church blew my mind, too.
Susana, it was nature's doing completely. The look came as a total suprise to me, but I was thrilled when I finally printed the image and it had that look. In fact, the entire area was really grayscale in appearance except the church - it just came out in a way that made me so happy.
Again, thanks for the comments!

Nothing like commenting years later ;) This is just beautiful... what an amazing "wall" of trees! And the church really pops out... just beautiful! A very belated congrats on this win.
