Thanks, Peter. You don't need credentials to shoot from the public gallery but I tried to get credentials so I could shoot over the rail. They declined. They were too worried about their liability. So I just went on my own and climbed on a chair. My favorite POV is to shoot as they are coming around the last turn. That is when they start really pushing the horses and they are as close as you can get to them facing the camera. This also happens to be the place at this track where you can get the twilight on the horses without it being blocked by the gallery. The only negative to this POV is the traffic on the HWY in the background. I had to remove an ugly yellow traffic sign. #4369379

I am very pleased with the 2nd Place Win on this image. This is one of the few images where I set out to take it with a specific plan as to what I wanted to accomplish and I had a lot of fun capturing it. I really enjoyed working under the pressure knowing that I literally got one shot to get it under the right light conditions as the horses were coming around the final turn on this one race.
