Does He sometimes assist ?
Uploaded: September 28, 2006 00:43:59
I did some PS fixing on this one (cloning dust, some fixes on skin, fixing colors and contrast, some other touch-ups)...
F4.0, 1/640s, ISO 200, Sigma 70-200 2.8 EX, 200mm, outdoor shoot, model Tea, sunset. Used bounced light from left above for fill in, sunrays are created with mosquito poison smoke (!!!) We were in the middle of session when suddenly mosquito busters appeared and unitentionaly gave us great artifficial fog. There was no time to loose, the efect lasted only for about 20 seconds, I was lucky to get it right. Incredible sights as this one sometimes apear without warning: you are suddenly faced to scene every photographer would like to have... you have to ask yourself: Does He sometimes assist to photographer? Maybe for fun. :)

While the photographic effect of mosquito laden sprays with the form of rays is quite effective, the neurological damage can be another story.Insecticides used to kill mosquitoes are toxic to the central nervous system of all animals, including humans. It contains significant levels of mixed xylene isomers which are known to cause damage to the brain and nervous system, leading to dementia like symptoms -- confusion and inability to concentrate, short term memory loss that re-occurs whenever you are reexposed to fragrances, petroleum distillates which are in gasoline, paints, plastics, floor strippers, synthetic substances that kill weeds and fungi and other pests, and a wide array of consumer products.
Having been poisoned with such, I would not bask in the light, but escape from the area immediately and remove the toxic poisons from further being absorbed into my skin by immediately showering with soap and water washing all clothing separately.
There is no cure for the toxic effects that may ensue. Physicians are told to treat the symptoms, not try to cure the disease (that follows). Prevention is the only hope.
So, while the effect for the portrait seems pleasing, the after effect is not. #3532189
