What Would Bobby Fischer Do?

Uploaded: November 15, 2001

Description

My son is learning to play chess and I wanted to capture the intensity and concentration he displays during a good match. I decided to try a macro approach to this portrait with my Nikon CP950. I used natural light at F3.5, 1/30 sec.

Congratulations Heather. Not surprised that this shot won here too. It's an excellent shot of your son. Does he have a big head yet? :-) #3973

Thank you Lisa. No...lol...he didn't let it all go to his head. But he did enjoy seeing himself all over the internet. Heather #3979

Rod Stewart said, "Every picture tells a story" and this one certainly does. The way he's eyeballing that white king, I'd say somebody's in trouble. Lovely. #4081

Wow!! What a gallery!! I shoot and am attracted to the same kind of images as you are...such varied subject matter, but all have that graphic element...just awesome! It's also interesting to see what "the judges" at BP recognise and what they don't...it's SO subjective, isn't it? Some of my favs, they didn't agree with me on...always interesting. I'm a new fan!! -Debbie S. #120719
