Description

I was first drawn to the architecture, but now am impressed by the history it represents. This church was by built by slaves in 1857. The total cost of construction was $2,500. There are some who say this church was involved as an Underground Railroad Station. Evidence of this is the crawl space that was found beneath the pulpit. The stained glass windows were added in 1891, along with renovations to the building.
