Wildlife Safari Llama, Oregon
Llamas are one of four main species of New World camelids. The other three species are the alpaca, guanaco and vicuna. These species are thought to have originated from a common ancestor. The predominant market for llamas in the United States is the pet market. Other outlets or uses which are gaining exposure include mountain packing, the tourist industry and guard animals in sheep flocks. A rather small market is available for llama wool.

Cool capture -- I thought the animals in the background were sheep. Love the way the lines of the llama and the deer and antelope zigzag through the composition with the slope of the hillside completing the upper line of the "Z" #8526023Denny E. Barnes April 11, 2010

They sure are interesting animals; and a great capture here, Denny! The detail and color of the llamas really stand out, but your composition with the slopes of the verdant meadow is awesome! #8526787Nancy L. Green April 11, 2010
