Thank you so much Gary. I really appreciate it... I was wandering around this like and spotted this guy off in the distance and snapped a quick shot. I like how it turned out, and it just seemed to go with the intro to Huck Finn! #28067Carolyn M. Fletcher May 26, 2019

Thanks Monika! This was taken about 3 weeks ago... late November. #28416Donna R. Moratelli May 26, 2019
Three weeks ago??? Thats unheard of!!?. This is really awsome Damian. It stopped me in my tracks. The person does it for the picture. He gives it a sense of scale. Looks like a cliff. Very intersting. This is one of the best that I've seen from you! great job. #28421

Thanks Donna! I really really appreciate it... I just checked the file and I took this on November 17th, so 3 weeks ago is about right. We were having a heat wave at the time and it was in 80's for over a week... I've attached a couple more from the same day... #28422Damian P. Gadal May 26, 2019

I dont know what more I can say Damien.I think everyone before me have done a very good job of saying pretty much all that can be said about this image.I am crazy about the story line!It is very befitting of this image. The tree is very majestic and powerful and speaks greatly of age. #28450Damian P. Gadal May 26, 2019
Thanks Cheryl! You just reminded me of something I completely forgot about.
Abour 4 years ago, Kendall-Jackson moved into this part of the State, as wineries are booming business in Northern Santa Barbara County.
To get ready to start their operations, they bought some property and set about to get it ready for their crops.
In order to do so, they cut down about 1,000 of these oaks.
Well, you can only imagine the ruckus it caused. So much so, that the County Board of Supervisors discussed it at length and passed an Ordinance governing how, when and why oaks should be removed.
Since I live in the City, I never put the two together.
As far as I can tell all parties seem to be working together on managing the land to the benefit of the community... #28459
