Superb shot, Sean. The color and tone and most importntly the vision of what you were after are spot on. And you worked the FG/MG/BG just right IMO, truly gives me the feeling of when I've stood there at the Coast. My only nit (a small one) is that my eye sort of aches to see a little more left of the scene (yikes, this isn't NPN, am I allowed to say that??), but it's not a showstopper, this is a gorgeous image. Man, I bet it would look superb in a huge print. Congrats on the POTD!

Thanks for all the great comments. I'm glad this image resonates with so many. I visit this beach often and this day was one of the most beautiful I have experienced. Paul - Much appreciated critique. I totally agree and was trying to do just that at the time. Unfortunately there were some distracting rocks to the left and the shape of the pool over there became a detractor. The landscape loves to toy with us :-)

Hi Philippe, Thanks for your comment but I'm not sure I'm deserving of the shredding. Just to be fair, I have been a member of BetterPhoto for several years and I have learned a lot from others who post here and from critiques of my images. And I enjoy sharing my images with fellow photographers as much as the next person. If BetterPhoto has become a forum for non-pros only I hadn't heard. In response to not sharing my set-up or techniques, nothing could be farther from reality. I make it a practice of sharing everything. I spend time every day personally responding to email questions, I regularly give presentations on my techniques to camera clubs and conferences, I teach workshops and I write about my techniques on my blog and the PhotoCascadia.com blog. I answered several email questions from BetterPhoto members specifically on this image. I don't always include the gear I used for every image but it's never a secret. This may be the first time my participation in the photographic community has sparked this kind of reaction and I'm a little confused by it.
