Camera Repair? I use my 10 yr old Canon EOS Rebel s and shoot mostly family and bands in clubs. Over the last 2 months I noticed my photos were not as sharp as they used to be. Especially in the dark clubs. I brought it in for an estimate for repair. They suggested a cleaning, replacing the lens barrel and adjusting the focus for $105. Is this reasonable? Will this help my problem? Should I just buy a new camera? It needs to be compatible with my Canon lenses though. Also, any tips on photographing in dark clubs?

I don't know about the repair, but a couple of things to consider. First - $105 seems pretty reasonable when compared to a new camera. Rebels run about $250 - $350, Elans are more. So, if it's about the money - and the Rebel works for you - get it repaired. If it's time for a new camera - I'd suggest the Elan (at least for film). Another thing to consider is the glass. If the Rebel works for you, I'd suggest the glass. Good lenses will provide good photos - even on a mediocre camera and thats where I'd spend the money. Of course, there is the digital option. I've seen good stuff from 10D as well as the new Digi Rebel - both of which will use your canon glass... Hope that helps!
