Maxxum 800si vs. Nikon N80 In the past 3 months I have been intensively and extensively researching SLR camera options. The choice has come down to either the Maxxum 800si, or the Nikon N80. Since I have a 35-80 and a 70-210 Minolta lenses, the Maxxum 800 si body only seems a good choice, except I don't think I'll like the access door or the weight. On the other hand, if I go with the Nikon N80, I'll have to start at ground zero with lenses. The N80 seemed the "perfect fit" in my hands, however. It made the slogan true ~ ENGINEERED TO EXHILARATE. Thing is, I only have a $700 limit of funds. Please advise.

Hi Julie. The two cameras you are debating between are two excellent cameras. Rationally, I would go with 800si. Since you have lenses which will fit the 800si and a budget which won't allow for much more than just the N80 body, I would go with 800si. Before you do decide, however, carefully analyze what your going to be doing with the camera. The N80 is a borderline pro camera and is better than the 800si in a lot of ways. If you feel this kind of camera(N80) is what you will NEED and not just WANT, then go with the N80.
