Equipment for Minolta Maxxum 5 Greetings all. I am new to SLR photography. After many years with point-and-shoot cameras, I decided to splurge and I bought a Minolta Maxxum 5 with a 28-80 lens. I've just shot my first roll, and I have had pretty good luck so far by keeping everything automatic. My interests now are being able to get some good shots of the hummingbirds in my yard. I can get fairly close by concealing myself in the house behind my bedroom window which will allow me to get about three feet from them. But I want to set up in different locations further away and zoom in for closer shots. Also, I want to be able to zoom in fairly close on the scenery at the beach as well as get some nice concert photos. I am looking at the prospect of getting a 70-300/4-5.6 lens. Minolta has one that is 75-300/4.5-5.6, Sigma and Quantaray (same lens) have one that is 70-300/4-5.6. Of course there are others out there with bigger price tags. My question is, will one of the above lenses do the trick? I've heard some say to get a 70-210 and a doubler instead. Also, I see two models of add-on flashes; the 3600 HS(D) and 5600 HS(D). Which one of these would be my best bet? Are there others out there? Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.
