Photography Business Name I am trying to come up with a name for my new photography business and was hoping I could get advice and feedback on what to use. If you haven't already, be sure to ascertain that the name you want isn't already taken by another business before you decide (generally through your secretary of state's office). This does not apply to the possibilities that include your own name, as in Janet Lyn Pool Photography. If you choose one of the others, like Emerald Sunsets Photography, you should register a fictitious name with your state as well to protect your right to use it. As for my preference, I'd go with one that includes your name. That's much simpler to deal with and doesn't put a limit on the type of photography customers expect you to be selling.

Go with your own name Janet. Can't go wrong. For my own photography business, behind the scenes-ordering-taxes etc. I chose a DBA. My public profile I use my own name
